CEO and President Douglas Guthrie Receives Unsung Hero Award from Watts Gang Task Force
Douglas Guthrie, CEO and President of the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, was recognized by the Watts Gang Task Force for his commitment and support to ensure that this nationally recognized collaborative can continue to focus on the goal of making a safer Watts.
“You [Watts Gang Task Force] are not only looking for peace in the community but working to make progress. I am proud to be a part of this group that puts the best interest of the community and the people who live in it as a priority. Thank you for this recognition,” said Douglas Guthrie.
Established in 2006, the Watts Gang Task Force was created to address gang-related activities in the community. HACLA, under the leadership of Mr. Guthrie, supports efforts and programs that aim to decrease gang violence in and around public housing developments as well as the greater Watts community.
